CEBES DAY 2026: Technika zblízka, zkušenosti do budoucna

How are components for BMW electric vehicles made? What goes on behind the scenes of modern manufacturing, and what opportunities do technical fields offer today? These were some of the questions explored by 190 eighth-grade students who visited our company this year for another edition of CEBES DAY. They spent the morning discovering our production facilities, gaining hands-on experience with technology, and seeing just how diverse and exciting the world of industry can be.

From Wind Energy to BMW Electric Vehicles

The programme began with a tour of our Industrial and Automotive divisions. We wanted to show the students not only what we manufacture, but also the wide range of professions, knowledge, and skills involved in creating our products.

In the CEBES Industrial division, students learned about the production of components used in industries such as wind energy and rail transport. They also visited our Design and Technology departments, where technical solutions are developed and manufacturing processes are planned. In the Quality Department, our colleagues introduced them to modern measuring equipment and demonstrated why precision and thorough quality control are essential in manufacturing.

The next stop was our CEBES Automotive division, where we specialise in the series production of components for BMW electric vehicles. Here, the students observed automated manufacturing processes and had the opportunity to try one of the manual assembly operations themselves. This hands-on experience showed them that even in modern, highly automated production, human involvement, attention to detail, and practical skills remain essential.

Hands-On Experience with Technology

The production tour was followed by an approximately one-hour technical workshop, which we organised in cooperation with the Secondary Vocational School in Slavičín and the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering in Vsetín.

Teachers and students from both schools prepared six interactive stations, which all participants had the opportunity to visit. The activities included measurement and metrology, identifying different materials, physics experiments, 3D printing, and laser engraving.

The workshop was designed not only to introduce different technologies, but above all to give students the opportunity to get involved, ask questions, and experience first-hand what technical fields are all about. After all, hands-on experience can often bring technology to life far better than any explanation.

From the Production Line to an Electric Vehicle

The morning concluded with a special experience featuring BMW electric vehicles. The students had the opportunity to explore the cars up close and even enjoy a ride in them. They could see for themselves the vehicles for which we manufacture components at CEBES, helping them better understand how the results of our employees’ work are used in real-world applications.

All participants also received a small gift as a keepsake of their visit.

Technical Education Has a Bright Future in Our Region

For us, CEBES DAY is more than just an opportunity to introduce our company. Above all, it is a way to bring technical fields closer to the younger generation and show them that exciting career opportunities can be found right here in our region.

Eighth-grade students are beginning to think about their future education and the direction they would like to take. That is why we want to give them the opportunity to experience a real working environment, meet professionals from the industry, and discover the wide range of possibilities that technical education can offer.

We believe that cooperation between primary schools, secondary technical and vocational schools, and manufacturing companies plays an important role in this process. It helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice, while introducing young people to opportunities they may not have considered before.

Thank You to Everyone Who Made CEBES DAY Possible

A special thank you goes to the Secondary Vocational School in Slavičín and the Secondary Technical School of Mechanical Engineering in Vsetín, along with their teachers and students, for their cooperation and for preparing the technical workshop.

We would also like to thank all participating primary schools, their teachers, and students for visiting us and showing such great interest in the programme.

Last but not least, our thanks go to our colleagues at CEBES, who helped with the preparations, guided students through our production facilities, shared insights into their work, and contributed to the smooth running of the entire event.

We are delighted that we were once again able to introduce 190 young people to the world of technology. And if CEBES DAY helped even a few of them discover a new interest or take a step closer to choosing their future field of study, then the morning truly achieved its purpose.
